Questions:
  • Question:What sports or games are available or accommodated for ladders on LadderShack?
Answer:Tennis, Squash, Racquetball, Foosball, Chess, Badminton, Arm Wrestling, Pool, Billiards, Go, Backgammon are some of the sports that are setup to be played. However, since the rankings and scoring algorithms are controlled by the Ladder Administrator really any sport can be played.

  • Question: What is the difference between "Ranked According To" and "Algorithm to Calculate Points"
Answer: They are both ladder configuration options. "Ranked According To" specifies which field to use to rank the competitors in the ladder. If "Ranked According To" is set to Points then the "Algorithm to Calculate Points" specifies how the points are calculated after games are submitted.

  • Question: What is the difference between the "Group Password" and the "User Password"?
Answer: The "Group Password" is specified by the Ladder Administrator and used by the users when they register to create their account. The "Users Password" is specified by each user when they register and is used by the user thereafter when logging into their ladder.

  • Question: What is the difference between a "Ladder Administrator" and a "Ladder Competitor"?
Answer: The "Ladder Administrator" creates and sets the ladder parameters (such as Ranked By, Ranking algorithm, colour scheme, ladder name and description, etc...). The following diagram displays an overview of the sequence of events in a ladder.
    Ladder Overview

  • Question: How do you sort by another statistic other than the default ranked according to?
Answer: In your rankings page, click on the link at the top of the column.

  • Question: Why can't I change the ladder color scheme after it has been created?
Answer: The colour scheme is set once when the ladder is created by the Ladder Administrator.

  • Question: When I try to view the rankings I cannot see all of the statistics.
Answer: Try using the scroll bar to scroll to the right. We provide so many statistics it's nearly impossible to fit them all on one page.

  • Question: How can I view all the games that one particular player has played in the ladder?
Answer: In the main rankings page scroll to the user you wish to view, and click on the user's name under the "User Name" column.

  • Question: What is a shutout?
Answer: A shutout comes from hockey lingo and refers to a player or team that so completely dominates that the opposition is not allowed one goal or point. Obviously the higher the number of shutouts a player or team has the better it is for them.

  • Question: During the ladder creation step when I click on one of the help links nothing happens, what is wrong?
Answer: LadderShack uses a popup window to display the help information, you most likely have an ad blocker of some sort. Temporarily disable or turn it off to see help information.

  • Question:Who can play?
Answer:Anyone can create their own ladder, and Ladder Administrators hand out the password to the users they wish can join in the ladder.

  • Question:How many ladders can I run?
Answer:As many as you like, we offer a variety of package options.

  • Question:Is gambling or betting allowed?
Answer:LadderShack does not allow gambling or betting on any games or matches.
